From January the 17th to the 19th 2019, TRON will host the niTRON Summit at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco.
TRON is aiming, in their words, to ‘decentralize the web’. Their blockchain-based operating system is designed to offer high scalability, throughput, and availability, with the goal of making decentralized systems feasible and attractive to large-scale organizations.
They’re headed by Justin Sun, a former cover person of Asia Weekly and CEO of mobile social community APP Peiwo. TRON acquired the file sharing giant BitTorrent in July of this year. TRON also has its own accelerator, a $1 million dollar program which aims to foster innovation and encourage growth in the blockchain space.
The event will be an opportunity for blockchain experts, big projects in the space, and people from a wide range of other industries to come together and share ideas under one roof. And now it turns out there will be a special guest in attendance: the NBA superstar Kobe Bryant.
Kobe Bryant is most famous for his highly decorated basketball career. As a 5-time champion, 4-time All-Star Game MVP, 17-time Player of the Month, 11-time All-NBA First Team member, and 2-time Olympic gold medalist, Kobe is a huge name in the sport. And those are just a few of his accolades.
Even more impressive, Kobe also has an illustrious business background. His fund, Bryant Stibel, has invested in 15 business to date. Projects he’s funded include sports media website The Players’ Tribune, video game publisher Scopely, and online teaching platform VIPKID.
