BitTorrent Announce TRX Payment Platform
This year saw a huge turning point in the progression of TRON through the acquisition of one of the world's leading p2p file sharing platforms - BitTorrent. Satoshi Nakamoto once commented on the importance of such platforms in securing the future of cryptocurrency, simply because of the huge volume of users platforms like BitTorrent have. Therefore, when the opportunity presented itself, BitTorrent ceased the opportunity to take a hold of BitTorrent, ensuring p2p file sharing can play a part in TRONâs future plans to totally decentralise the web.
TRON have now announced that users of BitTorrent will now be rewarded with TRX for providing content and for facilitating file shares. In a traditional file sharing setting, you have two entities, seeders - or those who provide content and leechers - those who download and use the content. Now, TRON are adding incentivisation to the mix, meaning seeders will receive rewards for providing and maintaining content, in this instance, the reward will be paid in TRX, bolstering the power of the TRX token and ensuring it is able to flow in a totally new arena.
This is a part of TRONâs Project Atlas
All of this comes as a part of a bigger announcement from TRON, Project Atlas, which is set to totally transform the way content is distributed online, all with the aim to make content sharing utterly decentralised. According to Ethereum World News, Justin Sun, the Founder of TRON has commented on this project:
âProject Atlas is the foundation for a new way of content distribution. To start, the product will feature faster downloads, more seeds, no mining, and backward compatibility. It is adapted to the world we live in today: mobile, connected, and transparent. We aim to eventually empower all content creators and their communities by eliminating the middleman and enabling content creators to distribute directly to users.â
What will seeders be paid for?
Obviously, those that are donating content are set to receive rewards in the form of TRX, though there is a little more to it than just that. Seeders will be paid based on how much bandwidth they allocate to the network, as well as for the type of content that they share. In essence, the more effort and resource they put into their file sharing, the more TRX they can earn.
Will this impact TRX?
Yes. This is going to encourage a new flow of TRX, a flow designed to not only compliment the adoption of BitTorrent, but ultimately, the adoption of TRX too.
