Dash & Litecoin Now Supported On CoinText

In the beginning, the popular SMS cryptocurrency wallet service CoinText only supported Bitcoin Cash but it has recently added support for Dash and Litecoin. According to a recent press release, CoinText lets users instantly send cryptocurrency to anyone through a crypto address or a mobile phone number. The aim is to make it simple to send and receive digital currency for new users. Vin Armani, the founder of the company had this to say:

“CoinText makes sending cryptocurrency as easy as sending a text message. It’s a powerful tool for communities to spread adoption of their cryptocurrency.”

The service launched only for Bitcoin Cash in March earlier this year but now they are expanding for different cryptocurrencies as it is “coin agnostic” according to Armani. Despite this move, the founder of the service has claimed he still sees Bitcoin Cash as becoming the biggest currency in the world:

[Bitcoin Cash] is the leading contender to become money for the world.”

The end goal for Armani is to “empower people to use cryptocurrency as cash.” backing up the decision to include Litecoin and Dash instead of other digital currencies, Armani said that these coins have been asking for a service like this for a while and implied that they deserved it. By texting the word ‘START’ to a specific phone number, users in Canada and US will be able to start using it. The service by CoinText on Bitcoin Cash is already available in over 18 countries which include, the UK, Chile, Australia, Spain and South Africa.

Per the press release, the company might soon start to add even more digital currencies, including the leading crypto, Bitcoin. This development comes during a time when Bitcoin Cash is surging over Bitmain, a major proponent of major Bitcoin Cash, filing for an initial public offering. What are your thoughts?
