Cardano have hit the headlines once again this week with yet another exciting announcement. Infinito Wallet have finally announced that they now support the facilitation of Cardano’s ADA, making Infinito Wallet the world's first mobile wallet for ADA. What is Infinito Wallet?Infinito Wallet is a mobile/smartphone wallet designed for the facilitation of smart contract based tokens, including Ethereum, EOS and NEO, as well as for the storage of more traditional cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin and Ethereum Classic. According to Infinito Wallet:
“Infinito Wallet serves as a gateway for users to maximize usage and potentials of their cryptocurrencies. By selectively expanding our partner network, Infinito Wallet aims to build an ecosystem of practical blockchain services including exchanges, ID/KYC solutions, and other blockchain-related business services. At the same time, we help support communities of developers and businesses with an open blockchain infrastructure of technologies and compliant-ready services, so that they can seamlessly build, launch, and operate innovative products and services efficiently.”By integrating ADA into Infinito Wallet, the team have finally established a working mobile storage wallet for ADA, something that Cardano have been on the hunt for, for some time now. Mobile integration is a key step for the future development and adoption of all cryptocurrency projects, therefore, by entering the mobile-sphere so to speak, ADA will not only become easier to handle, it’ll be become more adoptable too. What’s the big deal?As it stands, Cardano ADA was only available via the Daedalus wallet, a desktop application built specifically for ADA. As this was desktop based though, Daedalus was cumbersome and far less convenient than it’s new mobile rival. We also can’t forget that this is exciting news for Infinito Wallet. By being the first and only mobile storage solution for Cardano ADA, Infinito are sure to see interest from a whole new consumer base now. With new users onboard, the flow of ADA is set to grow and with that, it’s value and market cap is sure to benefit. As far as we can see from the Infinito Wallet announcement, ADA integration is something they are very bullish about:
“Infinito Wallet is thrilled to announce that as of version update 1.15.0, our Universal Wallet now supports users to securely send, receive, and check transaction history of ADA! With this inclusion, Infinito Wallet has achieved yet another incredible milestone: the first mobile wallet to support ADA. This continues to reinforce our vision to be the world leading universal wallet, a single safe place for all types of coins and tokens.”Furthermore:
“To further promote community adoption for ADA usage, Infinito Wallet serves as the alternative mobile option for end users to send and receive ADA securely and conveniently on mobile devices. Furthermore, we also plan to support unique features of Cardano blockchain on our roadmap, including staking Ouroboros.”
“Charles Hoskinson, the CEO of IOHK, discussed the launch of ADA on Infinito Wallet on his Twitter. ADA integration was made possible because Infinito team utilized Prometheus and Icarus code base, officially developed by IOHK, to ensure maximum security and stability for Infinito Wallet. With IOHK’s permission and support, Infinito has contributed code to the open source Cardano Rust project for ADA mobile wallet integration. Our team is proud to have contributed to community adoption of ADA and will continue such support to the Cardano open source community.”Sounds great, how do I use it?If you’re an ADA investor and want to be able to access your portfolio on the go, then you’ll need to install the Infinito Wallet on your Android or iOS smartphone. Installing from the relevant app-stores will mean you download the latest update, the one that already supports ADA. Otherwise, if you already use Infinito Wallet for other cryptocurrencies, you’ll need to update to version 1.15.0 and enable ADA.Are mobile wallets a safe way to handle ADA?Many investors do worry about mobile wallets, indeed, anxiety here is probably a good thing. Some mobile wallets allow for online storage, which means your assets are kept online, on servers that could be exposed to hacking. Infinito Wallet specifically uses a hybrid cold storage, meaning your assets are stored directly on your device. This means, using Infinito Wallet to manage for ADA is reasonably safe, because it isn’t prone to online hacking or attacks, however it does mean that if you lose your phone, your ADA is lost with it. You do need an internet connection to use Infinito Wallet though, because some data is stored online, otherwise when you are offline, your assets are safe, though you might not be able to access some features like your balance and transaction history. Moreover, if you don’t use a secure password to protect your Infinito Wallet, your assets at at risk of getting stolen, if your phone gets into the wrong hands. The official Infinito Wallet advice regarding this is as follows:
“Infinito Wallet is reasonably safe and secured because your cryptocurrency data is not stored on servers. Your digital assets can; therefore, not be stolen from the internet. You, however, must be careful not to share passwords or passphrases, as doing so could allow unauthorized access to funds. Please store passwords and passphrases in a safe place.”If you look after your mobile phone as if it is your wallet and as if it does contain your money and personal data then your ADA is perfectly safe within Infinito Wallet. By using ultra secure passwords, you’re only going to strengthen that security. As with everything in cryptocurrency, using Infinito Wallet for ADA is perfectly safe, if you make sure you look after it. This is a big deal for ADA adoptionAs stated earlier, the implementation of ADA on a mobile wallet is a really big deal for ADA adoption. This makes ADA easier to buy and easier to manage on the go, making ADA a more attractive prospects for budding new investors. For those that already invest in ADA, your lives have also just been made a hell of a lot easier, all thanks to Infinito Wallet.
