London (UK) To Display Landmark In Honour Of Cryptocurrencies

In a report, out this week, by London Loves Business, an artist known as Federico Clapis is allegedly due to erect a three-meter bronze statue in the centre of London, as a celebration of cryptocurrency and as a mark for the cities desire for cryptocurrency adoption. The production of this statue is to be funded by and powered by Eidoo, the hybrid cryptocurrency exchange. The statue will be present for around ten days, giving crypto-fanatics ample time to get a good look at the statue, or a selfie, or whatever it is people are doing these days. According to London Loves Business, Thomas Bertani, the Director of Eidoo has said:

“We want to encourage conversation about the rising tide of the crypto world, not limiting its diffusion to those in the financial sector. Eidoo’s mission has always been to educate the public about what’s going on in the cryptocurrency sector and we’re thrilled to be collaborating with one of Europe’s most exciting contemporary artists on a project we hope will spark discussion and interest in a topic that is rarely out of the media spotlight thanks to the meteoric rises and falls of Bitcoin. We welcome anyone who is interested in seeing the sculpture to come to Observation Point on the 15th June and see the sculpture, which will be in place for just 10 days.”

Either way, this is a cool convergence of cryptocurrency and popular culture. Whilst this is unlikely to drive the country into cryptocurrency adoption, it may get people talking and seeing a new side to an industry that is still considered to be very much, underground. Even if this inspires just a few new people to invest, or a few new people to pick up a cryptocurrency book, I’d say its totally worthwhile, I’m sure Clapis and Bertani would agree too.
