The dates have finally been revealed for the long-awaited Shelley era by the CEO of IOHK, Charles Hoskinson. Hoskinson shared 11 dates for the roadmap of the new update in the latest development meeting.

The team at Cardano has gone through some significant hurdles over the past year also in its plans to become truly decentralised in its highly anticipated Shelley era. The update was initially going to occur at the end of last year but due to unavoidable circumstances, the team on the project was only able to release the incentivized testnet in December 2019. The testnet was a big success within the community and was a vital part in preparing the main net for development on Shelley by bringing the whole network closer to a proof of stake security model.

Earlier this week on the 28th of May, the CEO revealed the dates for the numerous faces that are all in the run-up to the new era. The first date is the 9th of June when people all across the world will be able to run a steak pool as it will open for everyone. Following this, on the 16th of June, the team will put together all the missing pieces and a hard fork combinative test will occur on the 23rd of June.

Hoskinson went on to add that if everything works without any issues then on the 30th of June they are shipping at the new era out to the community. He also notes that users will have a four-week window to upgrade between the 30th of June and the 29th of July before the hard fork occurs.

It will be interesting to see how this situation plays out. For more news on this and other crypto updates, keep it with CryptoDaily!
